鳳舞音初起，龍騰霧已霏。
相惜風卻冽，何處復雙飛？
觀粵劇《龍鳳爭褂帥》有感而題

作品簡介 Artwork Description:
本作品源於對北角新光戲院的回憶。

畫面中的龍與鳳同時取材自粵劇《龍鳳爭褂帥》以及戲院入口的裝飾。鳳象徵曾在舞台上綻放光彩的粵劇文化；龍則象徵戲院之外不斷發展與轉變的香港。兩者並置於同一空間之中，卻彷彿循著不同的時間軌跡前行。環繞建築物的流動線條紋理象徵時間。它無聲無形，卻持續改變著地方的記憶。

透過這件作品，嘗試記錄新光戲院所承載的一段文化記憶，同時也反思在時間的流動之下，我們究竟能留下什麼，又將失去什麼。

Inspired by memories of the Sunbeam Theatre, this artwork reflects on the relationship between cultural heritage, urban transformation, and the passage of time.

The dragon and phoenix, drawn from both the Cantonese opera *Who Should Be the Commander-in-Chief?* and the theatre’s iconic entrance decorations, serve as the central symbols of the composition. The phoenix represents Cantonese opera and its long presence on the Sunbeam stage, while the dragon embodies the prosperity and continual transformation of Hong Kong beyond the theatre’s walls.

Surrounding the building are flowing currents that symbolize time: quiet, invisible, and impossible to stop. Rather than depicting conflict, they suggest the gradual changes that shape places, traditions, and collective memory.

Created in response to the theatre’s closure, the work reflects on the fragile relationship between remembrance and loss, and on how cultural memory often becomes most visible at the moment it begins to fade.
