鳳舞音初起，龍騰霧已霏。
相惜風卻冽，何處復雙飛？
觀粵劇《龍鳳爭褂帥》有感而題

本作品以新光戲院為主題，記錄其文化記憶，並反思時間與情感的錯位。靈感來自《龍鳳爭褂帥》中的龍鳳形象與戲院大堂的龍鳳裝飾——鳳凰象徵舞台上飛舞的粵劇傳統，龍則代表戲院外香港的繁榮變遷，隱喻文化與經濟發展的不一致。

畫面左側描繪大堂龍鳳裝飾，右側呈現劇角雲龍與文鳳對峙呼應，風的線條環繞戲院，象徵時間的流轉與沖刷。真正主宰一切的，不是對立，而是時間。

當失去臨近，方才回顧。粵劇與香港發展如潮汐起落，畫面延伸至華光大帝，寄託願望：願傳統在時間中找到自己的位置，得以延續。

This work centers on the Sunbeam Theatre, recording its cultural memory while reflecting on the misalignment between time and emotion. Inspired by the dragon and phoenix in the opera “Who Should Be the Commander-in-Chief?” and the theatre lobby’s decorations, the phoenix symbolizes the flourishing Cantonese opera on stage, while the dragon represents Hong Kong’s prosperity beyond the theatre — a metaphor for the uneven rhythm between cultural heritage and economic progress.

On the left, the theatre’s dragon and phoenix decorations are depicted, while the right shows the opera characters Yun Lung and Man Fung confronting each other on stage. Wind-like lines encircle the theatre, symbolizing the passage and erosion of time. Ultimately, it is not conflict but time that governs all.

Only when loss is imminent do we reflect. Like the tides, Cantonese opera and Hong Kong’s development rise and fall. The image extends to Emperor Huaguang, expressing a wish: that tradition may endure and find its place within the flow of time.
